Thermodynamics of quantum systems

I will derive an exact expression for entropy production (and the corresponding work and heat definition) in open quantum systems based on the sole assumption that the total density matrix is initially a product state with reservoirs at equilibrium. I will then show how these expressions simplify in the weak coupling limit where the system dynamics is described by a quantum master equation.
